In the latest pharma downsizing, Bayer has
announced that it will cut 6,100 jobs worldwide (3,150 in Europe; 1,000 in the U.S.; 1,200 in Latin America and Canada; and 750 in Asia). This is part of Bayer's ongoing integration of Schering AG. Nearly half of the reductions will come from R&D and production, with the remaining coming from regional administration functions.
