Sales for Peter Rost’s novel Killer Drug have declined again in the second week. The book is no longer ranked in the micro-genre "Legal Thrillers" (down from 76 last week). The Legal Thrillers micro-genre only contains the top 100 books.
Overall, Killer Drug is now ranked 169,515 (down from 50,619 last week). The sales trend is depicted in the picture below.
For credibility, Rost has posted a review of his book…written by his editor. So, not surprisingly, this first review (by the book’s editor) is absolutely glowing.

Note: This is only three data points (8/10/2007 with 19,737; 8/13/2007 with 50,619 and 8/17/2007 with 169,515). To smooth out the trend line, I'll begin collecting the data on a daily basis.

Peter, of course, picked out my more positive statements in my review of his book...but, for fair balance, it is best to read my ENTIRE post on the Impactiviti blog!
Steve, Thanks for the comment. Good to see someone other than Rost's editor, a Mr. Ed Stackler, has reviewed the book.
So are you going to post updated that the book has now rocked back up to #103,591?
Thanks for the comment. As promised, I will track daily and post weekly.
And it's back down again... Current ranking of 235,477.
He needs to go buy more copies of his book to boost the rankings!
How are you tracking the book sales? How can you be sure you are right?
It's easy – every morning, shortly after I log on, I pull up the Killer Drug product listing on Amazon.com and then note the sales ranking in an Excel file. I use the raw data to populate a graph showing the trend.
