SCHIP Gets Bush Whacked

No surprises here. President Bush vetos the bi-partisan State Children’s Health Insurance Program bill.

I’m not one to agree with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) on anything, but he said it best: a “heartless veto.” (Reid pictured at right giving his thoughts.)

It’s really just politics. They’ll go back into their camps, work out a compromise and everybody declares victory. It’s not pretty, but it’s how Washington works.
